Caroline, Fontys
I started at UCV when I was only 17. My original plan was to study psychology but because my grades were not high enough for that in Germany, I checked out the Netherlands. On an Open Day in Maastricht I first heard about the concept of “interdisciplinary studies”. There, I got really intrigued by the possibility to combine my interest in psychology with my interest in nutrition and that’s why I started my study in Venlo
International atmosphere
My favorite part of my studies is definitely the overall vibe and the atmosphere. People come from all over the world and everybody wants to get to know each other. Bachelor’s and Master’s students at Campus Venlo mix well and the teachers care about you a lot. You are also able to keep in contact with the staff much easier, so if you have any questions there is always someone who can help you out.
People are very open
Venlo for me was the perfect city because I can still live in Germany and cross the border within 15 minutes by bike. Campus Venlo also has multiple active study associations. I am a member of the University College Venlo international study association called “BEET”. They organise all kinds of events, such as potluck evenings and jam sessions. People are very open here, students come from so many different backgrounds and our different perspectives fuse together. It is kind of a like big family to me.
Future plans in Venlo
After graduating my plans are either to go into food development or into food journalism because I am really passionate about nutrition and would like to effectively encourage people to become more healthy . I am eager to do the Health Food Innovation Management Master here in Venlo.
