On June 9, Cleverland organized its first online matchmaking event. Four companies from the German-Dutch border area and 12 students from Hochschule Niederrhein and Fontys Venlo took the opportunity to get to know each other better in a moderated online meeting. Several students have found an attractive internship during this online matchmaking.
The four participating companies were Theaterhotel and Social Banana from Venlo, Stünings Media from Krefeld and Megamarsch from Mönchengladbach, all four of them looking for marketing interns. Theaterhotel Venlo and Social Banana from Venlo were specifically looking for German-speaking marketing interns.
Company presentations and Q&A
After the companies introduced themselves with short presentations, the students were given the opportunity to ask questions. Some students who have already completed an internship on the other side of the border also took part in the online event and shared their experiences.
Florian Ensing, a German student at Fontys in Venlo, is currently doing an internship for his bachelor thesis at the young, Mönchengladbach-based, company Megamarsch, that organizes the extreme walking event “Megamarsch” in many German cities. “I can absolutely recommend a cross-border internship to anyone. This way, you will get to know the different corporate cultures on both sides of the border,” says the Fontys student.
Perfect match for an internship
Perhaps it was because of Florian’s enthusiasm that there was ‘a perfect match’ between two students and the company Megamarsch. Starting from September, the students will support Megamarsch and gain practical experience in online marketing and event management. Another participant in the online matchmaking event will start in January 2021 with his internship at Theaterhotel Venlo.
