In which industry does your company operate?
We develop and produce fire resistant doors for buildings and ships.
How many employees do you employ and what are their qualifications?
We have about 80 employees working in technical and commercial functions, as well as computer specialists and technical editors. Because our products are always equipped with drives, controls and fire detection technology, we also have many electrical engineers working for us.
Which innovations are characteristic of your company?
Our products have won multiple awards and we hold several patents. We try to continuously improve the fire-resistant properties and functional safety with new materials and control- and monitoring technology. The reduction of weight and space requirement also plays a significant role, especially on ships.
What is the role of the border within your company? (opportunities? benefits?)
We export between 25% and 40% of our products and have business partners in different countries. Before the corona pandemic borders played virtually no role in the EU. Unfortunately they do now, due to quarantine measures.
What kind of employees are you looking for?
We are regularly looking for technicians / engineers for development, construction and sales, for instance, and for commercial employees for project management or sales.
What is the impact of the corona crisis on your company?
The construction industry is one of the less affected industries. Nevertheless, our customers postpone appointments and are more cautious in placing orders. The shipyards in Italy and France have been closed for a few weeks, so we were unable to deliver our products.
